Things Are Heating Up Around Here

We are now entering what is looking like an extremely busy season.

We have been building non-stop all throughout the winter, and are currently wrapping up some projects while beginning on many more.

The work deck has been home to two large-scale projects recently. This custom Pike Builders, Inc. dimensional timber frame for the Blake Residence will be loaded up and installed this week. The homeowners are very excited to see the process and almost cancelled attending an important wedding so that they would be around to watch the pieces become part of their home. After realizing how long an install of this magnitude can take, they kept their wedding plans and are making separate plans to visit our yard to see the trusses while we are finishing up the build.

The second truss system we are wrapping up is for another Wright Angle Construction custom home in Crested Butte.

With over 90″ of snow last month, in just 10 days, we have been officially buried.

But that hasn’t stopped us from working!

Crested Butte Mountain Resort officially shut down for a day during the storm, Monarch Pass shut down numerous times for avalanche mitigation, Gunnison Schools, Crested Butte Schools and Western State Colorado Univeristy had their first snow days in over 30 years, and Gunnison County buildings shut down to focus all resources on snow removal for one day.

But the valley builders kept working.

Except for a few powder days up on the mountain to keep moral up.

Time Lapse Story

GoPros are all the rage right now, whether it’s video captured of a mountain decent on skis, a white-water adventure through a gorge, or biking a single-track. Our interest recently has been documenting our construction projects from start to finish in a time-lapse format. The results are spectacular!

Here is the first of many time lapse stories of a timber truss and accent job in the Gunnison/Crested Butte area. Special thanks to our amazing employee Andy Sovick, for helping put this together.

Featured in Peak Magazine!

We are pleased to announce that our truss work has been featured in all of the main home build articles in the current Peak Magazine!

Photos of our work are also used in many of the builder advertisements throughout the publication. Congratulations to Crested Butte for having so many talented builders in the valley, as well as our General Contractors for being chosen for their remarkable homes!
