About Us...

Incorporated in 2006, The River's Edge Studio is a family-owned custom log and timber frame construction and off-site truss fabrication company. What began five years ago as a small partnership has grown into a quality, professional company that prides itself, not only on the creation of large, custom home construction, but the dedication to smaller, more intimate projects, as well.

Owners, Greg and Kelly Downum, have made the Gunnison Valley their home for over fifteen years. They recently welcomed their third child, another beautiful daughter, into their home that they share with their wonderful four-year old son, two-year old daughter, one dog, two cats and a fish. When not working, the Downums can be found enjoying all that this area has to offer including snowboarding, hiking, rafting and camping.

Greg has over fifteen solid years of log and timber frame experience here in the Gunnison Valley. He has subcontracted his personal services through many of the general contractors in Crested Butte, Mt. Crested Butte, Gunnison and surrounding areas. He also works directly with homeowners on new construction or remodels and understands, whether permanent or part-time residents, the importance of open and direct communication. 

Greg, along with his carefully hand-chosen experienced crew, deliver honesty, experience and dedication to each project that they are a part of. We bring unparalelled expertise from Crested Butte's TimberWorks, Inc. as well as Montana's Bitterroot Timberframes.
